BRIEF REPORT ON VICOBA ACTIVITIES IN ILIKIUSHIN GROUP

SUPPORTED BY TANZANIA- ZENTRUM’, AUSTRIA

Arumeru women support group is a group which supports women and children at risk and being affected or infected by HIV and Aids. The organization supports education to children on formal and informal education and entrepreneurship skills to women.

AWSG doesn’t have a donor only depends on individuals, organizations which will be interested on there activities.

Thanks to ‘Tanzania-Zentrum’ which was interested to one of our activities “To empower women with entrepreneurship skills to alleviate poverty.”

A group of twenty women which was already formed by AWSG which has their constitution, they have the leadership of the groups they have the rules to guide them also set some fines for those who will break the rules.

They had a five days training on business skills, marketing, bookkeeping and how to buy shares, how to divide and also how to give loans among themselves in the group and importance of keeping records.

Various stationeries were developed for this purpose and a safe for keeping money with three different locks and keys which are kept with three different people no one among them can access or open the box without all three to be present.

After the training the women started to buy shares and at the end of February they were provided by the seed money which was amounting 1.6 million Tanzanian Shillings. This was a great day for this group as it was a miracle they sang a lot of blessing songs so this was our day of putting seed in Ilkiushin group. This amount of money they are going to give each one a loan according to the business they have. During refunding it has to come with an interest which will be for the group and the rest of the money is refunded to AWSG for recycling. They are supposed to refund it on monthly basis for one year starting from March 31. AWSG has received the first refund of 134,000/=

Arumeru women support group on behalf of the women group in Ilkiushin we thank ‘Tanzania-Zentrum’ and all individuals and organizations which fund them for their help and needy assistance to empower the vulnerable groups (women and children) “ when you help a woman you have helped the whole community”.
